Volley: tool for client feedback and quality assurance of Webflow sites

Review: in this blog post I review a tool for providing feedback on Webflow site builds.

In this blog post I'd like to introduce you to a nifty little tool called Volley. Volley integrates with your web browser and helps with quality assurance and feedback for websites and other digital products.

How it works

Designers or product owners can review a site built by developers and leave comments via the web browser (it currently supports Chrome and Firefox) directly on each page. Developers can then access all comments and notes left by the designer, make updates to the site and mark issues as "resolved". All comments and conversations can be exported to project management tools like Trello or Jira as well.

What's in it for you

So how might this tool help you when you're a freelancer working on Webflow sites for your clients? You could be using Volley together with your clients so they can quickly leave feedback directly on the their staging site you've been working on. This way you don't have to dig through lengthy client feedback emails and possibly speed up the process this way. Also, Volley doesn't require the client to learn a complex system or separate tool, but he can simply install the Chrome or Firefox extension and get started. To get a better impression of how this process works, have a look at the short video below:

While tools like InVision, Figma or Sketch let you add comments to your prototype and designs, Volley is built specifically for digital products that are already live online in the web browsers.

Costs & alternatives

There is a free plan with limited features available which includes 1 project with unlimited comments.  In addition to this there is a US$10 per month offer available until the end of July 2020 ($25 after from August 2020). The paid version features an unlimited amount of projects, comments and collaborators. It also lets you export your comments to different project management systems.

If you're looking for an alternative to Volley, you can also check out Pastel, which works in a similar way.

Let me know if you've used Volley or a similar tool before and if yes, how you liked it!
